An Hour with the Bees

If you are curious about what it would be like to open a hive for the first time, are thinking about owning a hive for yourself, or just want to see what it is like to be up close with a colony of honeybees, then this is the experience for you!  An Hour with the Bees is a dedicated session for you and your group of family/friends to have a taste of beekeeping with one of our team. You will be kitted out in protective gear for the session and you will be taken to a hive of honeybees and helped to open the hive, handle the bees, and answer any questions you may have about basic beekeeping. We guarantee an experience you will remember forever… you never forget the first time you open a hive!

When: Sessions are available daily at 9:30am and are available to book online. Please arrive 5 minutes earlier than your session time and report to the shop staff. If you would like to enquire for a date that is not showing as available online, please email us on hello@quincehoneyfarm.co.uk or call us on 01769 572 401.  If we are fully booked on the day you would like to come, or if the time does not suit your group, please do phone or email us just in case we can find a way to accommodate you.
Please note there may be occasions when we are unable to offer the sessions daily due to staff availability, adverse weather conditions or extreme heat. A full refund will be given if this happens. The last session of the year will be on Sunday 27th September, before we let the bees rest for the winter.
Price: Each session costs £135 for up to 4 individuals. The price includes 1 hour dedicated time with a member of our Education Team for your group AND entry into the Full Attraction at Quince Honey Farm on the same day (open from 9:30am).
What to bring/wear: Beekeeping can be hot work – make sure you bring a water bottle! You will wear a beekeeping suit over your clothes, but please make sure your arms and leg are covered underneath and bring enclosed footwear such as boots or wellies. Short sleeves, shorts and sandals are not advised. Long hair should be tied back.
How to book: You can book online HERE
