Meet your tutor: David Packham
David has kept bees for over 40 years, having been under the spell of honeybees since a swarm encamped in his garden almost 50 years ago. David has been a Bee Inspector with the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) for 17 years, advising local beekeepers on the best practice in managing their bees whilst inspecting for and managing notifiable diseases. As a bee inspector, David inspected over 500 bee colonies each year, he is also a British Beekeeping Association (BBKA) assessor and runs the local Bee association beekeeping courses. When he’s not tending his bees, you will find him walking the moors or coast with his wife Christine. David brings a fresh perspective to his courses and his sense of humour and enjoyment of interactive elements make them very popular.
Knowledgeable, friendly leaders, who answered all our questions. Great setting, including the delicious lunch and coffee. I am now ready to get my own bees and to start producing honey! Fantastic day!
